Job Description:
People’s Path Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization seeking a dedicated Chief Compliance Officer to join our team. As the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage our compliance program, ensuring that our operations are conducted in a legal and ethical manner. You will work closely with senior management, staff, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and integrity within our organization.
Education, Certificates or Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification or similar credential preferred.
Chief Compliance Officer Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior Paralegal work experience.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to nonprofit organizations and social services.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Integrity and ethical behavior.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in paralegal work or compliance, regulatory affairs, or related field, preferably in a nonprofit or social services setting. Ability to write and create forms. Other preferred skills for this position are grant writing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Compliance Policies and Procedures - Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures that align with federal, state, and local regulations as well as industry best practices.
- Monitoring and Auditing - Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance.
- Training and Education - Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff and volunteers to increase awareness and understanding of compliance issues.
- Risk Management - Identify and assess potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities within the organization.
- Investigations and Incident Response - Manage and conduct investigations into alleged violations of compliance policies.
- Collaboration and Communication - Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and legal counsel on compliance-related matters.
- Compliance Reporting and Documentation - Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management and the Board of Directors.
