Position Overview
The Novelis A & I team is seeking a Sales Director, Aerospace! The person in this role will report to the VP Aerospace and Industrial plate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the activities of the aerospace team in the US, maintaining relationships, and developing the strategy for local OEMs (Boeing – Bombardier) to achieve profitability goals as well as contribute to sustainability goals. This position will contribute to achieving the business goals for the aerospace value stream and the plants in Koblenz and Zhenjiang. The incumbent is also responsible for building and maintaining long-lasting, positive relationships with customers while partnering with them to drive business growth!
Responsibilities:
- Manage the relationships with dedicated US and Canadian based customers, with focus on OEMs.
- Develop customer specific strategy.
- Negotiate new customer contracts and ensure adherence to existing contracts, including alignment on legal aspects in close collaboration with the legal team.
- Support and coordinate customer audits/reviews.
- Participate in sales planning activities for both Koblenz and Zhenjiang sites. This includes monthly, quarterly, annual and multi-year plans.
- Lead the global team in support of North American customers.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor of science or related field
- Highly skilled negotiator
- 10+ years of experience in Aerospace Sales
- Demonstrated success in OEM business development.
- Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and networking skills
- Customer service oriented
- Leadership and people management skills
- Ability to influence without line of authority.
- Highly proactive, dedicated and strong commercial mind-set
- Culturally flexible.
- Willing to travel frequently – 25% - 50% mainly domestic but some international
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor and/or Master in engineering
- MBA
- 10+ years in leadership Aerospace sales
- Expertise in aerospace sales for AL flat rolled products.
- Key account management experience
- Cross functional team leadership
- Good connections with North American OEMs
- Additional language skills can be a plus, preferably German and/or Chinese
