Purpose
Divergent is a technology company, based in Los Angeles, on a mission to revolutionize manufacturing with its proprietary Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS). We automate the design, manufacture, and assembly of complex structures using non-design specific software, additive manufacturing, and robotic assembly. We actively work with major Automotive OEMS and Aerospace Primes globally, addressing the automotive, aerospace, aviation, transportation, and agricultural industries.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Planning to oversee our material resource planning, demand planning, and production planning activities. This role entails the development and execution of strategic plans to ensure optimal resource utilization, alignment of production goals with business objectives, and the creation and maintenance of planning and reporting tools to facilitate informed decision-making. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing new processes that significantly enhance departmental efficiency.
In this capacity, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Program Management, Operations Strategists, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of customer programs, new production introductions, R&D projects, and other CapEx and OpEx initiatives.
You will lead efforts to achieve established enterprise KPIs, provide strategic guidance on process improvement initiatives to support the company's Annual Operating Plans, promote innovation and operational excellence, and develop robust business strategies to foster organizational synergy. This role will involve managing a team of planners and coordinators and will report to the Vice President of Program Management and Supply Chain.

The Role
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team. Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment, providing support and guidance to achieve team objectives.
- Oversee the master scheduling of customer demands and future forecasts; being accountable for the accurate creation and release of signals, management of orders, all the way through product and service fulfillment; inclusive of both made-in-house and procured commodities.
- Identify business needs and systematic gaps; able to use analytical frameworks to rapidly answer tough questions impacting scheduling, capacity forecasting, and delivery commitments to internal and external customers.
- Develop leading and trailing metrics and corresponding dashboards for the Planning organization, effectively visualizing the real-time health of supply, materials, and operations.
- Able to quickly develop a holistic understanding of the entire DAPS business enterprise and its current workflows, optimize primarily where sales, demand planning, operations planning, and program management intersects with manufacturing, production, and quality.
- Participate in regular cross-functional internal review with assigned team leaders to ensure that program deliverables and milestones are well understood and schedules support customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- BS or MS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience in planning, operations, supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership, managerial, or mentorship position.
- Experience working with highly dynamic operations teams and the use of ERP, MRP, PLM, MES tools (work order / purchase order / outsourcing ticketing, asset capacity analysis, inventory management, shop floor management) in an advanced manufacturing environment; having a solid understanding of the integration and implementation process of enterprise tools and systems.
- Experienced with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Splunk.
- Experienced with the use of SQL and advanced functionality of MS Excel.
- Solid interpersonal skills, motivated self-starter who can manage personal workload and execution to tight schedules.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and organization skills; experienced with interfacing with company executives and presenting regular report outs on departmental health and execution of strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a start-up, consulting, or similar high-growth, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated technical understanding of commodities (raw material, metals, additive manufacturing, machining, etc.)
- Demonstrated success in developing a high-performing team of planning professionals.
- Collaborated successfully in a team environment to ensure cross-functional requirements are met.
Work Environment
- Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts.
- Adhere to all Statutory and Regulatory Requirements 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.
Salary
$163,000 - $204,000 a year
