You will also provide assistance in various administrative functions associated with the Liability Line of Business (LOB), and will liaison with Client Engagement, Underwriting, Risk Control, Reinsurance, TPA Partnerships and Finance departments as needed while reporting to the Vice President, Casualty Claims.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as Managing Director, Liability Claims will include:
- Directly or indirectly negotiating claim settlements with oversight of direct reports within established authority levels.
- Coordinating litigation management efforts on claims to include selection of counsel when appropriate, and the monitoring of counsel performance in accordance with department litigation guidelines.
- Identifying claims with reinsurance and provide initial and subsequent updates according to department procedures.
- Communicating with Underwriting, Risk Control, Finance, and Client Engagement departments regarding account service issues, large losses and specific TPA issues and/or concerns, when appropriate.

- Monitoring mediation and trial exposures and the administration, supervision and oversight of appropriate settlement authority across the Liability LOB in line with the established guidelines.
