Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Sustainability Practice Director for our Corporate team. You will have a strong understanding of sustainability transformation, US and global reporting requirements, and will be able to identify unmet issues and opportunities with resolutions, for current and new clients, while ensuring to the highest level of satisfaction within the client’s C-suite.
In this role, you lead Triumvirate’s Sustainability Practice for clients undertaking of short- and long-term engagements addressing their carbon footprint, waste disposal, and material consumption. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 to 10+ years of experience working in the aforementioned areas that includes experience working in a professional services group leading project and consulting teams.

This position reports to our Managing Director of Professional Services. This role offers a hybrid work model and could be based out of Boston (Somerville), MA, Astoria, NY, or Florham Park, NJ.
- Client-focused perspective; results-oriented with ability to meet deadlines in compressed timeframe situations; strategic thinking capabilities; and attention to detail.
- Oversee multiple engagements, provide strategic direction, ensure deliverables are properly designed and executed to a high quality, providing actionable guidance to junior members of the team.
- Be recognized and deliver client engagements as a subject matter expert in the range of functional areas that includes:
- Waste recycling emissions reporting requests from clients.
- Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are calculated to provide clients with a report that details the total carbon cost fromwaste received and processed at our TEI’s plastics recycling facility.
- Formalizing revenue-generating sustainability support services, designed to support clients in achieving sustainability goals:
- Identify, track and address consumption and waste streams that can be reduced, substituted or diverted.
- Redesign processes, invest, and deploy resources to effect changes in the areas identified.
- Demonstrate and track the value (economic, risk mitigation, efficiency) of the program efforts utilizing generally accepted industry principles.
- Partner with Tax & Audit entities supporting the client to drive reportable results.
- Internal sustainability initiatives and accreditations.
- Building high-quality relationships with senior client team members (C-Suite, VP, and Director level at existing clients).
- Contributing to the growth of Triumvirate via knowledge and methodology sharing, case studies, proposal development, marketing collateral assistance, and recruiting.
- Lead, grow, and develop a professional team along a continuum of experience and skill sets; drive utilization goals, develop career paths for junior consulting staff, validate proof of career choice, and assist the leadership in developing strong sense of firm identity and community.
- Active participant in industry events, representing Triumvirate as a leader in Sustainability and related services.
- Drive starburst and growth opportunities at existing engagements.
- Presenting and leading client presentations and contributing to constructive dialogue around insights and proposed solutions.
- Ensure that required administrative tasks (timesheets, backlog reports, expenses) are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Basic Requirements:
- BS/BA in engineering, environmental sciences or related fields, graduate degree or equivalent is required.
- 5+ years of working experience in environmental and or safety operations within one of TEI client sectors (Life Science, Industrial, Health Care, Higher Education, Commercial Real Estate).
- Well established and knownsubject matter expert in the rapidly evolving strategic, operational, and financial areas of sustainability and able to identify unmet issues and concerns for resolution and increasing client satisfaction within the client’s C-Suite, VP, and Director level operations.
- Able to initiate and support business development efforts - Support Account Managers in on-going client developments and expansion of current projects.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of Triumvirate and senior client staff.
- Development and/or modification of robust offering content and collateral to support existing client project expansions / extensions.
- Ability to inspire, be a leader, and coach junior consultants in their career paths.
- Comfort with traveling and being present at client sites.
- Experience in delivery and managing client services at all levels of the organization.
- A forward-thinking mentality to successfully focus and deliver high levels of client satisfaction and reference, ability to meet project deadlines, client-focused, and creative problem-solving skills.
