GENERAL MANAGER
The General Manager shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Lead all facets of business with an ICS ice cream plant; oversee, mentor and guide all department managers in establishing annual goals to drive bottom line financial growth while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Conduit to communications regarding plant results between production facility and corporate officials.
Responsibilities include:
Daily
- Review invoices and sign disbursements
- Meet with all managers as time allows to discuss issues in their departments
- Attend and participate in the daily VFM meetings
- Monitor daily performance KPI Performance, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Distribution, Office, course correct as needed
Weekly
- Review production dozens/labor costs and share the information
- Conduct a weekly staff meeting
- Attend Customer and Supplier’s conference calls
- Review FG and dry goods inventory levels
- Review weekly mix usage/ loss reports
Monthly
- Review and share facility financial (I&E, gross profit, operating numbers), manufacturing and safety information with employees
- Attend the Prairie Farms personnel meetings
- Assist with FG and ingredient/packaging inventories. Review results of the MO. Inventory and discuss with the staff
- Review the Safety TIR and DART Incidents/ Lead Monthly Safety Meetings with plant staff
- Review AP distribution reports
Annually
- Prepare a fiscal year Operating Plan for the facility and communicate with Division Executive Team
- Prepare the sustainability report to the facility
- Prepare Annual CAPX submission to the corporate team
- Develop Manager KPI Targets for Annual Leadership Team Scorecard
- Review and recommend management and office personnel wage adjustments to Division Management
- Discuss with the management and office employees wage reviews and Thrift (Profit Sharing) contributions
- Assist in prepare the OSHA 300 report
Miscellaneous
- Negotiate supplier contracts for coatings, sticks, some ingredients and packaging materials in conjunction with the ICS facilities
- Oversee contractor bids and agreements
- Develop cost details for new products and review for existing products
- Submit product components and supplier information to Corp for nutritional and ingredient listings
- Participate in product development and plant trials
- Work with equipment suppliers on specifications, terms and scheduling of work
- Review and approve die lines and proofs of packaging materials
- Interview office and management candidates
- Attend Corporate training sessions

Education, Certifications and Experience:
The following qualifications are required:
- 8-10 years Operation Leadership/Management in a manufacturing setting

Physical Requirements:
(S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of product. Will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data and product. May be required to enter the cooler, a cool and wet environment, and the freezer, a very cold environment (less than 20 degrees below zero) and crawl, twist and turn and move and carry objects as much as 40 pounds.
Other:
The General Manager is a salary (exempt) position and reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Standard hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
May require off hour shifts and weekends
Potential for up to a 20% bonus yearly
