The LinkedIn Data and AI Technical Program Management Group is looking for a Senior Staff level Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team which is part of LinkedIn’s Data and AI organization. The Data and AI organization consists of over 1,200 people who design and build the massive-scale distributed data and machine learning platforms, recommendation and search technologies, and analytical tools on which all of LinkedIn’s applications depend. We also contribute to the technical community by open sourcing our latest technologies.
The Senior Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) will have the opportunity to drive cutting-edge improvements to our advanced machine learning applications and platforms. You will own and drive key areas of LinkedIn’s Data and AI org-wide initiatives across LinkedIn’s products powering tens of millions of users. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams across LinkedIn to lead and deliver high impact and cutting-edge AI products. The LinkedIn TPM role is highly diversified and includes initiating, planning and executing intermediate to large scale, cross-functional and company-wide programs.

The successful candidate will be technically strong, have a solid track record of program management leading large scale technical Data and AI programs, possess excellent communication, will have worked with a large number of customers to drive adoption, and will have demonstrated excellent leadership, along with superior organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive key cross functional, technical AI and engineering initiatives across LinkedIn.
- Ability to influence senior leaders, empower, build strategic relationships and align people across a broad variety of job functions through relationships.
- Develop strong partnerships with engineering and product management leaders and build the necessary subject matter expertise.
- Take ambiguous technical problems, formulate plans and drive teams to deliver successful results.
- Understand the long-term implications of architectural and technical changes, while not losing focus on the short-term deliverables.
- Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths.
- Continuously improve and scale the organization. Improve processes where needed, while being cognizant of not slowing down engineering teams.
- Create a collaborative work environment that fosters shared understanding, transparency, mastery, autonomy, innovation and continuous learning.
- Analytical and truth seeking. Ability to understand sophisticated concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high emotional intelligence.
- Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver.
- Experience with or solid understanding of end-to-end agile software development.
- Coach and mentor others on the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- 9+ years professional experience in an engineering or technical team, of which at least 7+ years are managing technical programs/projects.
- B.S./B.A. degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing AI programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing large programs and leading multiple TPMs.
- Technical program management experience in the tech industry.
- Significant experience working with software engineering leadership, technical teams, and individual contributors.
- Passion about being an indispensable part of a great product.
- Ability to communicate authoritatively at a sufficient technical depth.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Passionate about learning new concepts and technologies.
- Hands-on software development experience.
- Knowledge of machine learning applications and platforms, Azure would be a big plus.
- Experience on building foundational models on large scale.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $157,000 to $257,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
