What are we looking for in a Chief Information Officer?
- Uses strategic planning to establish and drive IT vision, ensuring alignment with Coleman’s goals.
- Develops IT policies and practices that foster innovation, security, and efficiency.
- Ensures the seamless and secure operations of all IT systems while championing efficiency and reliability.
- Leads and manages a team of IT professionals, providing coaching and mentorship to ensure their development and success.
- Engages, builds, and partners with the executive team, board of directors, and vendors to ensure alignment with current and long-term business objectives.
- Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and office automation equipment.
- Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
- Develops IT budget, develops business case justifications, and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives.
- Maintains a working knowledge of data-related activities and tools to support reporting needs of the organization.
- Oversees contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers.
What qualifications will you need to be a successful Chief Information Officer?
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Prefer Master’s degree or MBA.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT leadership with 10 of those years in executive leadership role(s). Proven track record of managing IT strategy and operations in a complex organization.
- A thorough knowledge of Microsoft solutions, IT solutions, and cloud services.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Visionary with collaborative influence, and an exceptional communicator.
