Job Overview:
Coursera is in search of a dynamic Vice President of Content Design and Production who brings a seasoned background in scaling high-quality content design and production operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment and will be adept at using advanced technologies, including AI, to enhance content engagement and performance. This leadership role demands a blend of strategic vision and practical expertise in managing global content development and procurement strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Scale Design Services: Architect and refine scalable processes and systems that empower content creators through advanced self-service tools and resources. Elevate the design standards of our platform to improve user interaction and educational outcomes, utilizing the latest in design thinking and user experience strategies.
- Content Production: Lead the expansion of our content production capabilities to handle increased volumes without compromising on quality, ensuring that all projects align with our educational standards and are delivered on time and within budget. Develop a metrics-driven approach to assess production efficiency and quality, implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance throughput and content value.
- Strategic Procurement: Craft and execute a global procurement strategy that optimizes our network of content designers, production houses, and third-party catalogs to support scalable growth. Leverage international markets to ensure a cost-effective and high-quality content creation process, establishing Coursera as a leader in global educational content offerings.
- AI Implementation for Strategic Growth: Spearhead initiatives to integrate AI into the content lifecycle, from design to production to analysis, to drive content performance and learner engagement. Collaborate with Coursera's Data Science and Product teams to develop new tools that predict content trends and learner needs, ensuring Coursera stays ahead of the genAI-powered educational technology curves.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and steer a talented multi-disciplinary team of designers, producers, strategists, and content professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, excellence, and accountability. Set clear team goals, establish key performance metrics, and conduct regular evaluations to ensure individual and team success, driving continuous improvement throughout the organization. Develop and implement robust training programs and valuable career development opportunities to nurture talent, enhance expertise, and support succession planning within the team. Through effective leadership, create a positive and innovative team environment that encourages the team to deliver high-quality work and continue to grow professionally.
Basic Qualifications:
- Leadership in Content Production and Design: 12+ years of professional experience in content production and design, with a significant portion in a leadership role managing large-scale projects in the education technology or digital media industry.
- Operational Scaling and Team Management: Proficiency in streamlining workflows and optimizing operational processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Strong Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and drive collaboration across functions and geographies.
- AI Application in Content Creation: Expertise in leveraging artificial intelligence tools and technologies to enhance content creation processes and drive performance improvement.
- Procurement Strategy Development: Experience in developing and executing procurement strategies tailored to meet global operational requirements.
