Job Title: Head of Sales & Operations Planning

About the role:
As a Sales & Operations Planning Lead, you will manage the supply chain process for the product portfolio within the US region with the objective of meeting customer and market demands, while achieving service level, inventory, and cost targets. You will provide leadership and strategic direction for managing supply chain planning activities, business planning processes, and data/systems. You will also identify and implement continuous improvement programs that support business goals & objectives in the short-term and strategic plan in the long term. You will report to the Head of US Supply Chain Coordination.
How you will contribute:
Partner with US commercial franchise business leaders to develop a deep understanding of customer and market trends, competition, pricing, and marketing strategies to achieve our goals in the US.
Develop communication channels between the Operating Units and the US commercial franchises while collaborating with other support departments such as Finance, Regulatory and Quality teams.
Be the primary liaison between the Operating Units and the US Commercial organization in managing supply/demand execution dynamics, understanding demand requirements, and ensuring plans are in place to meet service level performance requirements.
Engage US franchise business leaders in resolving strategic demand/supply issues through in-depth analysis and marketplace assessment to understand the risk/benefit tradeoffs between several approaches and opportunities.
Implement an S&OP process with cross-functional participation to facilitate discussion focused on achieving business goals. This includes highlighting business critical issues to senior business leaders, development of relevant dashboards, and improvement plans.
Resolve complex supply situations by partnering with internal and external partners: Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Finance, Customer Experience, and Distribution. Communicate supply risks and recovery actions to support customer service.
Develop/maintain a commercial supply chain dashboard to monitor the goals for the business and identify appropriate actions to achieve targeted results.
Ensure quality and completeness of demand signal and align with regional launch leads to ensure successful product launches.
Lead innovative thinking and foster continuous improvement across S&OP processes/ activities.
In case of supply coverage risks, support the allocation of supply.
What you bring to Takeda:
BS/BA Business or in relevant field including Advanced Supply Chain degree. MBA with quantitative background or other advanced degree would be ideal.
APICS Certification would be ideal.
7+ years of planning experience (preferably in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical Industry) with 5 years in management role.
Fundamental knowledge of supply chain, and supply/demand relationship.
Experience with planning and S&OP processes, Demand Forecasting & Analytics, Statistical Forecast Models, Replenishment planning, end-to-end Supply Chain processes and functions.
MS Excel/PowerPoint and SAP (or similar system) experience.
Operate cross functionally with Commercial business Franchise teams, Manufacturing and Supply Operating Units and Product Launch teams.
Analyze issues, prepare recommendations, and facilitate decision-making on regional level with commercial and Manufacturing and Supply Operating Units.
Coordinate with the Commercial teams, OPU's and Supply Chain team members to ensure forecast signal is provided to manufacturing.
Escalate local/ regional S&OP issues, provide input to GSC risk management and provide input for performance management, capability building.
Escalate local/ regional IT issues; provide input to IT requirements and ensure agreement on main KPIs, escalate issues & provide input to issue resolution.
Important Considerations:
May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.
Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
Work in a cold, wet environment.
Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range: $149,100.00 - $234,300.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
