Job Description
A market leader in the earthmoving equipment parts arena is looking for a result-oriented General Manager to lead the growth of its operations in Houston. The ideal candidate is a world-class operational leader who knows heavy equipment parts and has excellent communication skills. Working cross-functionally, the new GM will meet/exceed business goals by maximizing profitability and driving financial returns while ensuring optimal customer experience.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage our Houston operations, taking the reigns from exiting (retiring) management team. Lead the growth of our operations in Houston – grow a sales team and presence in market that ensures an excellent customer experience.
- Cultivate a strong product and market knowledge, as well as knowledge of the customer’s business and end use of material.
- Manage inside and outside salespeople to maximize our presence in the industry and ensure return business.
- Ensure customer inquiries, service needs, questions, or complaints regarding products, services, billing issues, and deliveries are handled.
- Work with sales team to identify potential sales opportunities by prospecting, identifying needs, explaining product details, options; initiate product quotations, follow-up with customer inquiries, answer customer questions, correspondence, resolve customer problems, build long term customer relationships.
- Maintain and update customer database, customer contacts, price levels, review/analyze customer sales report, identify and take appropriate action to grow sales based on related information.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of sales experience in the Construction Equipment industry (i.e., Bulldozers, Excavators, Skidders, Wheel Loaders, Backhoes, Scrapers, Compact Loaders, Crawler type equipment)
- 5 years of proven experience in heavy equipment parts
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast-paced shop environment
- Good verbal communication skills
- Familiar with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Parts look-up
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Good communication skills
- Experience of working with technical or complex information
- Bilingual is a plus
