Job Description:
- This individual will be responsible for leading and directing enterprise-wide logistics services, processes, tools, and standards.
- Experience in leading the management and control of program-wide assets, including initiating and maintaining the processes, systems, procedures, records, and methodologies necessary for effective and efficient control.
- Leads internal assessments, auditing of inventory, and oversight of Government Property Loss investigations as well as leading proper property disposition in coordination with the AAS Property Administrator (PA)/Plant Clearance Officer.
- Responsible for developing strategic plans to improve logistics operations, including the implementation of new technologies, processes, or methodologies that enhance productivity and reduce expenses.
- Manages inventory levels to ensure that there are adequate supplies without overstocking, using inventory management systems to track stock levels, deliveries, and shipments.
- Evaluating suppliers and vendors on their performance and maintaining good relationships to ensure the reliable supply of goods and services.
- Plans and manages the transportation of goods, including selecting the most efficient routes and modes of transport, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Enforces that all logistics operations comply with local, national, and international regulations and laws, including those related to customs, import/export, and transportation of goods.
- Implements quality control measures throughout the logistics process to ensure that products meet the required standards and specifications.
- Supervises all logistics staff at on-site and off-site locations.
Responsibilities:
- Regional Logistics Management: Direct logistics services, processes, tools, and standards across the enterprise. Lead the management and control of program-wide assets, ensuring effective and efficient control through established processes, systems, procedures, and records.
- Property and Asset Oversight: Oversee Government property management, including custodial services, and managing material in storerooms, material movement. Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and V2X business procedures.
- Compliance and Reporting: Process internal and external customer requests related to materials. Manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking and ensure adequate supply using inventory management systems to track stock levels, deliveries, and shipments. Conducting Contractor Self-Assessment (CSA).
- Operational Supervision: Supervise logistics staff, including managing work schedules, distributing workloads, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards. Oversee shipping, receiving, property tagging, warehousing operations, and equipment handling. Oversee and review the accountability of monthly cyclic inventories.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to conduct inventory, to improve logistics operations, incorporating new technologies, processes, or methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce expenses.
- Transportation Planning: Plan and manage the transportation of goods, selecting efficient routes and modes of transport for timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all logistics operations comply with local, national, and international regulations, including customs, import/export, and transportation laws. Implement quality control measures to meet required standards by following an approved Property Management Plan.
- Internal Assessments: Lead internal assessments, audit inventory, and oversee Government Property Loss investigations. Coordinate property disposition with the AAS Property Administrator (PA)/Plant Clearance Officer.
- Training and Development: Recognize team strengths and weaknesses, develop training or reward programs to improve performance. Supervises all logistics staff.
Experience/ Education:
Degree(s)/Years of Experience: (10+BA/BS or 5+MA/MS) or (14+AA/No Degree)
A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is required, with a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Maximo and other MIS systems (e.g., Sunflower, S4 Hana).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of GCSS-Army, FEDLOG, ETID, and government supply systems.
- Understanding of FAR/DFAR requirements and compliance.
- Budgeting and forecasting Skills
Desired Skills:
- HAZMAT Certification.
- Existing DoD Secret Clearance.
- NPMA, CPPS, and CPPA certifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to develop team skills and provide effective training.
