Molex is looking for a Director of Business Development! The person in this role will be responsible for global business development activities with focus to aggressively expand Molex's RF/microwave portfolio into new and strategic adjacent markets. You will be responsible for expansion of our product offering by introducing new products and capabilities that complement existing products. To be successful, the person in this role will work closely with sales, marketing, product management and other support functions to achieve business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement global strategic business plans targeting preferred markets (examples include but are not limited to: medical, instrumentation and automatic test equipment, aerospace & defense), industries, and customers. Leverage market research to develop a point of view (POV) around product line trends, technologies, pricing strategies, and where to invest. Leverage the RF product strategy framework to expand product marketing literature, development, and execution for new customers/new opportunities.
- Establish and convert a profitable pipeline of new customers to grow beyond our current core business. Proactively seek and implement methods of lead generation, promotional activities, and engagements that lead to sustainable commercialization.
- Create opportunities for business development and product management teams to succeed. Increase sales and market share of RF products in support of Divisional and Business Unit financial objectives. Responsible for understanding all customer requirements for assigned programs and communicating them to the team, ensuring that the team meets or exceeds all objectives.
- Promote Molex RF as a brand ambassador driving new market presence. Lead and manage the product lifecycle process from concept to launch, including product vision development, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with engineering and supporting partners to win.
- Establish strategies for new products and services with a goal to extend and grow the life of RF product lines. Work with manufacturing plants to meet launch commitments. This may include recommending a buy and re-sell strategy with key suppliers.
- Continue to develop and leverage trusted relationships across the industry to identify potential acquisition targets. Work with Business Unit and Division leaders and Corporate Development teams to support acquisition execution and related integration activities.
- Encourage and support positive employee relations, open communication, and teamwork within the work group and with other locations.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Good communication, influential leadership skills, and persuasive presentation skills.
- Strong financial acumen, problem solving, and economic thinking. Proven ability to use financial data and metrics to make decisions that create an advantage.
- Experience in the RF connector industry in sales, marketing, engineering, or business development.
- Experience supervising a team.
- Experience with customers in targeted new markets.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Thorough understanding of RF/microwave connector business environment.
- In-depth market knowledge of RF/microwave applications in Aerospace, Defense, Instrumentation and/or Medical.
- Passion about creating a vision, building teams, collaborating, and applying a growth mindset to look beyond barriers and see the potential.
- Proven ability to influence key decision makers at senior levels of organizations.
- Experience cultivating an acquisition and commercial engagement pipeline and demonstrated understanding for transaction processes.
- Experience leading acquisition integration.
- Experience executing commercial agreements with customers and suppliers to integrate supply chain.
