The Research Services Group is responsible for all phases of client studies from project scoping and initiation through execution and closure. The Study Director position is a leadership role responsible for engaging industry clients in study design, then coordinating external and internal resources to ensure each project is scientifically sound, executed properly and efficiently, and to the client’s satisfaction. The Study Director reports to the Vice President of Scientific Operations and manages multiple direct reports.
In this role you will:
- Apply your scientific expertise to generate well-organized and scientifically sound study designs and protocols, helping clients optimize the value of our products toward achieving project goals.
- Be responsible and accountable for the execution, coordination and communication of all client study work, including study design, scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- Motivate, direct, and support a team to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
- Continually build team capabilities by identifying unmet client needs, developing techniques and methods within the team and ensuring training meets technical capacity and matches project needs.
- Communicate effectively with industry clients and internal resources to ensure smooth and efficient work flow.
- Assure that results are accurately recorded, verified, organized, and reported.
- Bring organization and direction to maintaining and completing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with the protocol, amendments, and facility SOPs.
- Proactively recognize, document, and resolve any potential issue that may affect client studies.
Requirements
- PhD with 3 or more years postgraduate experience, preferably in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO environment, or Masters/Bachelor’s Degree with commensurate combined experience
- Prior experience in liver and hepatocyte biology and/or expertise in some combination of: infectious disease, metabolism, oncology, or gene therapy
- Experience leading and motivating teams
- Proven track record in advancing multiple research projects simultaneously
- Must have worked with research animal models previously
- Protective HBV vaccination titer or willingness to be vaccinated upon starting the role
- Experience performing ABSL2/BSL2 work

Work Environment
- This position involves duties in a laboratory and controlled Specific Pathogen-Free setting, including light exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to lift at least 30lbs.
- Able to bend, kneel, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Must be able to perform in an environment with exposure to animals, animal dander, animal byproducts, and bedding materials

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
