Job Description Summary
As a Mortgage Trainer, you will assist to onboard new team members, providing support for training and facilitating learning via classroom instruction or virtually; incorporating a variety of methods to accommodate adult learning styles. The Mortgage Trainer will support mortgage departments in establishing, coordinating, and organizing training. In addition, you will collaborate to provide one-on-one mentorship and ongoing training, ensuring the team is working efficiently and accurately.

We trust that as a Mortgage Trainer you will: (responsibilities)
- Develop and maintain a regular effective training schedule
- Provide training support for Processing and/or Origination Experience when assigned to those departments
- Review and monitor training in the areas of processing/origination for Conventional, FHA, VA & USDA loan program guidelines
- Monitor training for origination compliance disclosures (existing and updates)
- Identify and coordinate training in the following areas: analyzing credit reports, bank statements, tax returns, and calculating income
- Review work and files for compliance and quality
- Provide development feedback to managers fostering accelerated assimilation
- Partner with department SMEs to obtain training content
- Be willing to perform other duties as assigned
- Support and partner with the Mortgage Disclosure Desk and Closing Fulfillment teams
- Train team members to audit, verify, and ensure mortgage loan disclosures and closing disclosures are accurate and comply with regulation timelines
- Review, prepare, and send out disclosures throughout the loan process while ensuring accuracy

About you:
- Proficient Processing and/or Origination Experience for assistance to those departments
- Proficient understanding of FHA, VA, and Conventional underwriting requirements and guidelines
- Proficient with analyzing credit reports, assets, and calculating income including tax returns
- Ability to restructure loans when assisting origination and processing departments
- Familiar with and aware of the required disclosures
- Oral and written communication skills, meet deadlines and conduct business in a professional manner
- Ability to prioritize tasks and function independently
- Possess a positive attitude, be flexible in a fast-paced environment, be a team player and be willing to constructively contribute to the department
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 - 4+ years of mortgage lending experience in the current lending environment required
- Desired training experience, ability to facilitate
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint required
- Knowledge of Ellie Mae Encompass LOS preferred
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.
