Job Summary
The Nephrology/Immunology Sr. Director of Insights & Analytics will be critical in helping to shape the company's Commercial Insight & Analytic Capabilities. This role will be responsible for supporting commercial, marketing, and executive leadership by providing market insights, marketing research, forecast models, and data to support decision making. This position will be instrumental in making sure that we are looking at all angles of our business with analytical insights needed to make the right business decisions.
Job Description
Provide strategic/leadership direction and subject matter expertise to the Neph/Immunology Insights & Analytics organization to support data driven business decisions for the following:
- Targeting & segmentation of key customers
- Analytics & Reporting - includes all Market and Data analytics based on alignment with key business priorities. Additionally, responsible for rapid, high-quality turnaround on ad hoc business analytics requests for Executive Leadership and other stakeholders.
- Market Research & Competitive Intelligence - including strategy and execution of primary (qual and quant) market research studies, and competitive intelligence surveillance.
- Works closely across Neph/Immunology Insights & Analytics teams, alliance partners, and with cross-functional partners to add value through analysis and insights to inform business strategy and execution. This includes collaboration on analytical methodologies for conjoint analysis, discrete choice analysis, quantitative message testing, product positioning, and segmentation using both primary market research data, sales execution data, and secondary physician/patient data.
- Connect market research and secondary data analytics, including advanced analytics, together to tell a compelling and persuasive story that delivers clear and actionable recommendations.
- Drive strategic thinking and serve as a business insights leader to the U.S. commercial teams by answering key business questions to define commercial strategies and tactics and drive investment decisions.
- Manage, develop, and lead the brand insights & analytics team to high levels of performance providing direction, root cause problem solving, and critical thinking. Identifies and oversees implementation of efficiencies involving group deliverables, tools, and working procedures using continuous improvement methods.
- Develop core skill training to ensure latest analytics methodologies are incorporated into analysis.
- Align with Commercial Operations regarding data availability and quality for analytics.
- Manage the brand I&A budget.
- Create strategic partnerships with internal and external customers, vendors, and extended team members.
- Partner with other Business Unit analytic groups to leverage tools and share best practices.
Qualifications/ Required
Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:
- The successful candidate for the position of Sr. Director of Insights & Analytics will be a well-rounded leader who is highly collaborative, a great communicator, conscientious, naturally autonomous, and a self-starter.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Solid analytical skills, business acumen, and good knowledge of the US healthcare landscape.
- 8+ years' experience in pharmaceutical or related positions, including in-depth experience in building and implementing measurable successful strategies across commercial functions.
- 3+ years of leading cross-functional teams and/or people management responsibility. Experience in interpreting and analyzing data to drive growth and furnish insights, analytics, and business intelligence needed to guide decisions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas, get buy-in, and drive consensus within the commercial organization and across project teams.
- Experience in managing large cross-functional workstreams (marketing, sales, analytics, forecasting, etc.).
- Successful track record managing activities through others.
- Experience in interpreting and analyzing data to drive growth and furnish insights, analytics, and business intelligence needed to guide decisions.
- Strong organizational, communications, and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge/understanding of industry data sources (e.g., Symphony, IQVIA/IMS, Claims data).
- Ability to lead strategically, drive performance, foster relationships, build alignment, negotiate, listen, and collaborate.
- Proven track record of performance via consistently meeting or exceeding goals.
- Good blend of strategic and operational experience with the ability to see the big picture and strong attention to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, diplomatic, and able to effectively deal with ambiguity.
- Dependent on location, business travel up to 25% of the time.
Educational Qualifications
- Director: Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry in an analytical function.
