What you do as a Warehouse Manager:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the successful execution of Warehousing and Shipping activities. The position requires the ability to develop, implement, control and adjust branch plans to implement the company’s growth strategy while simultaneously leading the team to achieve operational goals and efficiency targets for the branch.
- Ensures the accuracy of the inventory data in the SXe system. Knows how to run and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Assists General Managers with warehouse space optimization. Ensures excess racking is being utilized and works to improve bin location and warehouse layouts.
- Manages the maintenance for warehouse equipment, rolling stock, docks and roofing.
- Ensures that cycle counting is taking place on a regular basis and tracks performance.
- Protects the assets of the company by implementing appropriate security and process controls.
- Active in the hiring, training, coaching and discipline of warehouse associates.
- Communicates priorities, progress and expectations through daily huddle meetings (5-10 minutes long) and monthly department meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful candidates must have a successful track record of leadership preferred.
- Experience in the millwork and building materials industry is desirable.
