Job Overview: As a member of the Diesel Division in POD 90 Head Machining, you are primarily responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to repairing parts and creating new ones, either in groups or individually. Machinists must prepare by checking specifications. Associates will calculate how to shape the piece of metal or other material that is being worked on and decide what tools are necessary. Machinists place work pieces on the tool of choice and set the controls to ensure precision cuts. While the machine is working, the Associate will watch carefully for any problems and monitor the speed and heat of the machine.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain focus on job tasks.
- Ability to use a computer and possess suitable math skills to complete job functions.
- Hands-on position.
- Prepare by checking specifications and following work instructions to perform necessary repairs.
- Place cylinder heads in various pieces of equipment to perform the necessary machining to produce a finished product.
- Pay special attention to the product and the piece of equipment to achieve the desired outcome.
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to 50lbs, with the option to use a hoist for assistance.
- Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (approximately 8-10 hours).
- Ability to use handheld tools such as hammers and punches.
- Walking: Frequently.
- Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally.
- Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting rate $18.25 + based on experience.
- PTO and 9 paid holidays after 30 days.
