Job Summary
The Deputy Director will work under the direction of the University Planner to assist in the development of planning documents inclusive of but not limited to the development of the Space Planning Guideline Program (SGAP) Report, facility programs, capital budget and various correspondence. The position requires an individual that is detail-oriented with good analytical and communication skills. In addition to evaluating facility strategic alternatives, developing facility planning documents, and collecting, analyzing, and graphically communicating necessary university planning data, the individual will need to interact with university personnel and outside agencies including but not limited to the Department of Budget & Management, Maryland Higher Education Commission, Department of Legislative Services and the legislature, performing other duties as assigned.

- Research other university facility trends
- Develop facility planning documents
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Education: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Architecture, Quantitative Research or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Capital Planning and/or Facility Programming environment is required.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Preferences: Candidates with an advanced degree in Planning, Architecture, Quantitative Research or a related field may be given preference. Candidates with work experience within a higher education institution or State entity, where space planning is based on quantitative data analysis is also preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The candidate must also be highly motivated and assertive. The candidate must also be willing to be mobile, when building walkthroughs are necessary to verify space usage.
