The GM will promote a positive safety culture by demonstrating visible commitment and active involvement. The GM will also develop a strategic plan to advance the company's objectives, train and develop their team, promote profitability, and participate in growth as an organization. The goals of this position are to ensure; safety, compliance, production efficiency, quality, service, sales, and promote teamwork.
Responsibilities.
- Champion a culture of safety excellence leading to safe performance and compliance.
- Provide vision, direction, and strategies to deliver optimal business performance.
- Ensure business goals and objectives are in line with the overall business strategy.
- Measure and respond to performance results on a regular basis, lead the organization to take advantage of opportunities, and take corrective measures where necessary.
- Develop and manage operating capital
- Lead, guide, and develop the management team toward achieving business goals, growing profitability, and expanding the customer base.
- In conjunction with operations personnel, maintain or enhance communication with customers and suppliers to ensure the necessary components are in place to provide superior customer service and capitalize on opportunities for service and product continuous improvement.
- Lead sales and marketing strategy, maintain awareness of market conditions and the impact on the business, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed to achieve results.
- Build direct relationships with key customers, participate in industry and community organizations, and enhance the esteem and reputation of the company.
- Ensure talent management and recruiting strategies are in place and executed to provide optimal staffing and individual and team performance.
Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- At least 7 years of overall experience in the construction materials industry At least 7 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in sales, operations, or engineering, with a proven track record of leading safely, ethically, and responsibly. Strong understanding of both operations and sales
- In-depth understanding of the financial aspects of a business and interpretation of financial reports
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and organizational influence skills
- Demonstrated ability to build teams and employee engagement
