Revenue
- Leads and monitors the sales department in attaining revenue goals defined by the hotel annual budget through various sales initiatives.
- Conducts business to business sales calls, cold calls, maintenance calls and closing calls on a regular weekly and ongoing basis.
- Establish and maintain close contact with top account and target accounts, through appointments, phone calls, tours, correspondence, and business lunches. Assess their current and future needs. Network with prospects to uncover other decision makers.
- Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, and other sources.
- Actively sells the meeting space according to budgeted goals.
- Actively participates in weekly Revenue Management meetings.
- Courteously accommodate special requests of guests and be prepared to answer guest questions regarding the hotel and local area facilities and services.
- Develop and maintain rapport with competitor hotels, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce.
- Participate in community activities, employee functions and guest events.
Marketing
- Stay informed of marketing opportunities within the area and determine if they might be a good fit for the property.
- Conceptualize, create and maintain all approved marketing materials to include print and digital outlets.
- Monitor expenses for all marketing initiatives and track ROI. Determine if ROI justifies the expense.
Reporting
- Complete weekly sales reports and itinerary. Submit to Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate sales files and trace system of all accounts through the established sales software.
- Research, establish and execute the annual marketing plan. Perform sales tasks and goals as outlined in the marketing plan.
- In conjunction with the General Manager, establish annual revenue budget with the hotel team. Be well versed in historical as well as forecasted data.
- Read and understand sales management tools (STAR, Feeder Markets, 3rd party OTA's, Brand.com specific) and leverage those tools for positive change.
- Forecast projections weekly.
