Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Colorist Manager with a robust background in textile design, color, and fabric knowledge. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in dyes, dyeing techniques, and printing processes, coupled with an in-depth understanding of textile structures and their impact on color. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for this role, along with a keen sense of color.
Key Responsibilities:
- Color and Fabric Expertise: Apply extensive knowledge of dyes, dyeing techniques, and printing methods across various fiber contents and fabric structures. Understand how textile structures influence color appearance and adhere to industry standards for fabric and color testing.
- Color Evaluation: Utilize both visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures with accuracy and consistency. Proficiently use light boxes and other color assessment tools to ensure precise color matching and quality.
- Color Differentiation: Demonstrate the ability to differentiate and describe color variations accurately and consistently. Maintain high standards of color accuracy throughout the development and production processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in PC operation, including MS Office, Excel, and color/design systems. Utilize these tools effectively to manage color documentation, track color approvals, and facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Documentation and Coordination: Track and chart lab dips and bulk fabrics from development to production. Maintain organized records, including color libraries and continuity binders, to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with design teams, factories, vendors, and internal cross-functional partners. Build and maintain strong relationships, providing clear and actionable guidance on artwork and color requirements.
- Organization and Prioritization: Exhibit exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines. Maintain a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
- Team Orientation: Be personable, service-oriented, and collaborative within a team environment. Contribute positively to team dynamics and support a cooperative work atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Strong background in textile design and color/fabric knowledge.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in dyes, dyeing techniques, printing techniques, and textile structures.
- Color Sense: Excellent color sense with proficiency in visual and instrumental color evaluation.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in PC operation, MS Office, Excel, and color/design systems.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
- Interpersonal Skills: Personable, team-oriented, and service-focused.
Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 a year
