The primary role of the Senior Manager, Facilities Operations is responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the ResMed Los Angeles site. The Senior Manager, Facilities Operations, under the direction of senior leadership, is responsible for planning, communication, facilitation, oversight and coordination of the preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, renovation, new construction and presentation of all buildings, facility infrastructure and grounds. The role will be based in Chatsworth, CA transitioning to Calabasas in 2025 and will include some travel. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. Qualified candidates must also have experience functioning in a large-scale operations environment and have demonstrated and displayed ability to think outside of the box and in establishing and optimizing greenfield and/or brownfield developments. This skill is essential, as the candidate will assist with aligning with internal stakeholders on larger objectives of other business and peer organizations. This leader plays a role in raising the team to a standard of operational excellence and performance while keeping the operating costs of the facilities at a minimum.
The role is responsible for:
- Manages the daily operations of assigned facilities and programs including staff, contractors, and vendors for all areas of the business, which may include facility, production and IT services.
- Provides asset and maintenance management of electronic and software based technological systems required to manage and monitor buildings, plant and equipment or provide services to staff, visitors and contractors.
- Development of a strategic plan, in close cooperation with real estate planning, that ensures support for growth of the business.
- Administers, plans, and directs service contracts such as landscaping, custodial, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pest control, generators, fire, life safety, and work order management systems.
- Manages inventory, including periodic facilities and PMP (Powered Moving Plant) equipment condition assessments. Transfers deficiencies that are not within facilities operations staffing capabilities to the facilities management staff for contracted support.
- Managing daily facilities operations, including but not limited to security, cleaning, and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of a Facilities Strategic Plan for ResMed Los Angeles which is very closely aligned to the Real Estate Strategic Plan.
- Designing and planning facilities layouts in conjunction with the business verticals and in alignment with Company brand guidelines.
- Development of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for all sites, as well as working with site leaders to operationalize those plans.
- Creating and managing the facilities Operations budget and reporting monthly on performance to or deviations from the budget.
- Responsible for organizational structure, content of jobs and establishment of culture and performance standards, including the development and implementation of metrics to ensure optimal efficiencies.
- Participates in short- and long-term budget development, identifies facility operation area expenses, and equipment needs for operations.
- Leads efforts to ensure contracted services scopes of work are up to date. Report and address deficiencies to the facilities management group for appropriate action.
- Ensure proactive involvement in, accountability for and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, incident management and understanding of current laws and Company policies regarding workplace safety.
- Overseeing and managing contractors working on-site at ResMed facilities.
- Develops and coordinates written proposals and other purchasing service contract agreement specifications for the maintenance support requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
- Preparing and presenting employee security awareness and safety programs involving crime prevention, safety, and ethical conduct and security awareness topics.
- Develop and maintain security plans and best practices for all system facilities and associates.
- Pro-active approach to deterring possible security breaches by using the latest state of the art video surveillance equipment, access control, screening technology, and consistent physical tours and inspections of the building interior and exterior premises.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or as deemed appropriate by the Senior Management of ResMed Motor Technologies.
- 5 years prior facilities operational experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writing. Ability to lead others.
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
