As a Senior Principal Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Home and Auto Lending Technology team, you lead a specific area architecture and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of data architecture applications, processes, and product management to lead multiple complex projects and initiatives, make key decisions, and drive innovation to achieve the target state architecture goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Stay current with new technologies and vendor solutions available in the marketplace.
- Demonstrate your expertise in data architecture and design, for both structured and unstructured data as well as in data modeling and all aspects of data management: data governance, data mastering, meta-data management, data taxonomies, and ontologies.
- Demonstrate expertise in architecting and delivering highly-scalable and flexible, cost-effective, cloud-based enterprise data solutions.
- Maintain a fluent understanding of data security and compliance requirements as well as architecting and documenting architecture at multiple levels (high-level to detailed) and across multiple views (conceptual, logical, physical, data flow, and sequence diagrams).
- Understanding of Solutions Architecture methodology and practices.
- Work to translate business requirements into conceptual and detailed technology solutions while showing the ability to perform third-party vendor assessments and to develop and lead proof-of-concepts.
- Exhibit strong collaboration skills and the ability to establish and manage effective working relationships in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Work to create strong consensus-building ability and negotiating skills with strong communication and executive presentation skills, both oral and written, and an ability to communicate well to both technical and business audiences.
- Help innovate thinking and embrace innovation by constantly seeking new or contrary ideas and approaches to what has been done in the past.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on data architecting concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- 10+ years hands-on data design in large-scale and complex data solutions development projects.
- In-depth experience in data architecture and design for large, complex enterprise data environments, for both structured and unstructured data.
- Experience architecting and delivering highly-scalable and flexible, cost-effective enterprise data solutions.
- Experience with data analytics, BI, data reporting, and data visualization.
- Experience with data modeling.
- Experience with data security and compliance.
- Experience with data lifecycle management, data-tiering, and data archiving.
- 5+ years of AWS cloud experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with all aspects of data management: data governance, data mastering, meta-data management, data taxonomies, and ontologies.
- Experience with AI/ML and predictive analytics.
- Experience with products related to APIs, SDKs, Microservices frameworks, Data platforms, Data Streaming, and Stream processing technologies.
- Experience engaging stakeholders across an organization to set strategy, align on priorities, and deliver to a roadmap while managing to changing business needs and requirements.
- Experience building configurable, scalable, extensible, highly available (SaaS) platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated prior experience influencing across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture.
- Fluency in cloud-based data storage and analytics offerings.
