Job purpose:
The Director, Janitorial & Grounds Business Operations leads the overall administration and management of our commercial janitorial cleaning services and landscaping/groundskeeping business operations. Using a hands-on leadership approach, the Director will cultivate these lines of business to best in class standards and ensure the highest level of service delivery to our government and commercial customers while expanding our operations across the northeast U.S. region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise and lead our janitorial and landscaping/groundskeeping business operations
- Responsible for ensuring all contracted services are fulfilled according to contractual specifications to the highest quality levels through hands on training and team development
- Establish and implement departmental policies, procedures and practices that follow international service industry standards.
- Establish and implement departmental goals and objectives, aligning with organizational values and strategic plan to diversify revenue and employ people with barriers to employment
- Complete job site walkthroughs, prepare contract bids/service inquiry responses and establish price points based on competitive market standards
- Direct and execute new customer contract start-up ensuring full compliance with scope of work and contract specifications
- Cultivate and develop Regional and Area Managers to serve as ambassadors of the TKC mission
- Identify performance goals and provide ongoing in the field training, coaching and feedback for continuous quality improvement
- Financially manage and ensure account/contract profit and productivity goals are met
- Direct and coordinate production, pricing, and efficiencies of all lines of business
- Determine staffing requirements, personnel acquisition, training, and retention processes
- Develop/implement services-marketing strategies and collaborate with Business Development to ensure the growth of the enterprise
- Implement environmental management sustainability programs that align with CIMS-GB
- Develop quality control plans, safety programs and customer feedback systems to ensure contract compliance and service quality
- Directly responsible for compliance with CIMS-GB Certification, OSHA, EPA & DOT standards
- Manage inventory of all departmental assets and establish detailed customer utilization systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years multi-site janitorial management/custodial services experience
- Groundskeeping/management experience a plus
- Experience with direct implementation and management of Federal contracts is highly desired
- CIMS certification experience preferred
- Familiarity with janitorial management software a plus
- Must be able to gain federal access clearance
- Must be able to pass a National Agency Check and acquire Dept. of Defense Common Access Card
Physical Requirements:
- 50% Regional Multi-State Travel Required
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
- Ability to operate equipment, hand tools, and machinery on an occasional basis
- Prolonged periods of climbing, walking, driving, sitting, standing, lifting, bending and reaching throughout the work environment and travel
