Job Summary
Action for Children (AFC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced CEO to lead our organization in its mission to provide high-quality early childhood education and family support services to communities in Central Ohio. The CEO will be responsible for leading the organization's overall strategy, operations, and growth, while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, staff, and partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead the organization's vision and strategy to achieve its mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the Action for Children leadership team and community to manage the creation and execution of programs and services that address community needs and are consistent with organizational goals.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including board members, staff, providers, funders, and community partners.
- Ensure effective communication and transparency with all stakeholders, including regular reporting and updates.
- Oversee the organization's finances, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Develop and maintain a strong infrastructure to support growth and scalability.
- Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse team of talented staff members.
- Stay informed about state and national policy developments in early childhood education and family support.
- Advocate for AFC's interests.
- Serve as chief fundraising officer for the organization.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., early childhood education, public policy, non-profit management, business administration).
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in early care and education, social services, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in building relationships with stakeholders, overseeing the development of programs, and management of budgets.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education policy and research.
- Experience working with underserved communities and families.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills.
- Ability to think strategically, problem-solve creatively, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong numeracy skills in finance and budgeting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., early childhood education, public policy, non-profit management, business administration).
- Experience working in a non-profit organization or government agency.
- Familiarity with Central Ohio politics and government processes.
- Experience recruiting and developing talent for senior leadership positions.
