Position Overview : The General Manager will oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring the facility runs efficiently, meets regulatory standards, and delivers top-quality service to healthcare clients. This role will be responsible for managing staff, controlling budgets, ensuring safety and compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both laundry operations and the unique needs of healthcare institutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operations Management : Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and timely delivery of services to healthcare clients. Implement best practices for laundry processes, infection control, and quality standards.
- Staff Leadership : Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team, including plant managers, supervisors, and operational staff. Promote a positive workplace culture and high employee engagement with a professional approach with employees, coworkers, and customers.
- Client Relations : Maintain strong relationships with healthcare clients, ensuring their needs are met and service standards are consistently exceeded. Address any client concerns promptly and effectively.
- Budget and Financial Management : Develop and manage the facility’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising service quality. Monitor financial performance, control costs, and seek opportunities to increase profitability.
- Safety and Compliance : Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards, including OSHA, HIPAA and the TRSA Hygienically Clean requirements. Regularly conduct audits and address any areas of non-compliance.
- Continuous Improvement : Drive operational improvements by implementing new technologies, optimizing workflows, and promoting lean manufacturing practices. Regularly review performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve productivity and service quality.
- Inventory and Supply Chain : Oversee inventory management and procurement to ensure an uninterrupted supply of linens, chemicals, and other essential materials.
- Customer Service Excellence : Foster a customer-centric approach, ensuring all processes and staff are aligned to meet the specific needs of healthcare clients.

Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Management, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- 8-10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role in a healthcare, laundry, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including infection control, OSHA standards, and other relevant compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage conflict effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Outstanding communication and client relationship skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and management systems.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in managing large-scale laundry operations, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
