MHC has an immediate full-time opening for a Director of Residential Services position within the Stamford area. This position is responsible for assuring quality residential services within compliance of state regulations and MHC expectations. This position is responsible for service management needs which include staffing and fiscal resources necessary to ensure effective delivery of services to residents. The position demonstrates a high level of integrity, and a strong depth of knowledge regarding State and organizational guidelines.
Salary Range: $64,325.63 - $82,015.17 annually. MHC offers a competitive benefits package which includes:

The Director of Residential Services responsibilities include:
- Oversee the residential program administration while maintaining a positive team of well-trained employees who provide support, supervision and interaction with individuals.
- Lead and evaluate the program in full implementation and compliance with regulations, policy and procedures.
- Determine staffing requirements, screen potential new hire candidates, conduct interviews, and participate in the selection process.
- Hire and plan an effective orientation for new employees.
- Regularly supervise direct reporting staff, develop staff to maximize potential, monitor staff performance including performance reviews.
- Approve time off requests and time cards in payroll system as well as program expense allocations in the appropriate financial software system.
- Ensure that departmental services outcomes are appropriate and periodically reviewed for their continued effectiveness.
- Maintain knowledge of State guidelines and legislation in the mental health field.
- Review residential services program performance against budget, regulations, and MHC policies and procedures.
- Evaluate, develop and propose recommendation needed to assure appropriate services for individuals.
- Monitor and ensure budget guidelines are met; regularly reviews budget and expenses with executive management.
- Propose and participate in developing policy and procedural changes with staff members and Executive Management to enhance the quality of services and employee engagement.
- Monitor all aspects of the program to assure that the physical, social, psychological and independent living needs of the individuals are met.
- Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through proper supervision of the sites ensuring the maintenance of safe and healthy facilities. May include conducting check-ins with housed clients.
- Consult with Human Resources on matters involving employee concerns.
- Attend and actively participate in scheduled administrative meetings.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote and support agency programs and business strategies.
- Strengthen clear communication and mutual support between programs.
- Sustain on-call responsibilities, including but not limited to phone calls, crisis management, and emergency situations possibly requiring response to site.
- Develop and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with individuals, other staff, and community agencies.
- Complete projects correctly and on time, exhibit sound and accurate judgment; ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions.
- Organize and prioritize; use time efficiently; plan for additional resources; develop realistic action plans.
- Represent the agency at local, state and association meetings and functions.
- Willing and able to drive a personal vehicle locally and within the state. May be required to transport individuals in personal vehicle.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social science or related field required.
- Advanced degree, license, and/or certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in Residential Services Management preferred.
- Familiarity with Connecticut state human service systems and related treatment requirements and mandates.
- Proficient with technology, including, but not limited to, iPads and laptops, Microsoft 365, and Electronic Health Record Software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license and auto registration and insurance.
