Job Summary: As the CFO, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our financial strategy. You will work closely with the CEO and executive team to guide our financial planning, maintain robust financial controls, and ensure the overall health of our financial operations. Your leadership will be key in fostering our financial relationships, overseeing budgeting processes, and driving our strategic initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Board Engagement: Attend and present at all Board meetings, delivering comprehensive financial reports, business analyses, and forecasts to keep the Board informed of our financial health.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic and tactical planning. Chair weekly OKR (Objectives and Key Results) meetings to monitor and drive organizational performance.
- Financial Closing: Implement and maintain a program to ensure a 5-day month-end close. Oversee the timely preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Forecasting and Projections: Prepare rolling quarterly financial forecasts and annual 5-year projections. Present these forecasts and projections to the Board of Directors.
- Financial Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions. Secure funding for capital projects and address other financial needs.
- Budget Management: Chair annual budget meetings, consolidating inputs from the executive team. Prepare and submit the annual budget for Board approval.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and mentor a high-performing accounting team. Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including billing, cash control, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and inventory oversight.
- Policy Development: Develop and document business and accounting policies. Strengthen and maintain internal controls.
- Business Cases: Prepare and analyze business cases to support informed decision making and implementation.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze quarterly financial reports and assess the financial condition and trends of key customers.
- Risk Management: Manage internal risk assessment processes. Oversee annual insurance renewals and handle insurance claims as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or similar role in financial management.
- Experience in strategic planning, financial forecasting, and budget management.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing accounting and finance teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Board members and executive teams.
- Expertise in risk management, financial policy development, and maintaining financial relationships.
