POSITION: Director, Corporate Engagement
DEPARTMENT: Resource Development
REPORTS TO: Associate Vice President, Corporate Engagement
PAY GRADE: 8
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, Corporate Engagement will serve as the relationship manager for priority accounts and employee-giving campaigns and enhance philanthropic investments through relationship building, seamless customer service and moves management best practices. In addition, this person will focus on operational efficiencies and growth strategies for the Corporate Engagement Team, in collaboration with the CDO and AVP. The Director will also serve as an internal liaison to Community Impact Initiatives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Account Management – 40%
- Oversee a portfolio of corporate partners, develop and execute customized engagement strategies to deepen relationships and philanthropic support through relationship building and moves management best practices.
- Provide excellent customer service to corporate accounts through strategic management: year-round engagement, volunteerism, and participation in United Way of Metro Chicago programs and events.
- Partner with team members to identify and pursue new corporate partnership opportunities that align with United Way of Metro Chicago’s vision and mission.
- Collaborate with the corporate team to design and implement strategic plans to achieve revenue and community impact goals.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of corporate engagement activities, impact metrics, and fundraising results.
Management – 25%
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Corporate Engagement Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance on corporate relationship management, moves management strategies, and engagement plans to maximize impact.
- Set performance goals and expectations for team members, supporting their professional development and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development to enhance the team’s skills in corporate engagement, relationship building, and donor stewardship.
Operations and Strategy 20%
- Oversee Corporate Engagement Team’s grant applications and proposals, manage timelines and internal review.
- Oversee strategy and processes for CEO calls in partnership with CDO and AVP. This includes implementing a year-long planning calendar and supporting staff in messaging Campaign Cabinet Volunteers in their outreach.
- Prepare briefings to ensure volunteers and staff are well-prepared and have the resources they need to participate in calls and meetings with corporate partners.
- Create processes and procedures in partnership with the AVP to collaborate efficiently with internal teams.
- Coordinate stewardship initiatives for the corporate partners in collaboration with AVP and CDO.
Data Management – 5%
- Manage and update individual portfolios of corporate accounts in the CRM database.
- Ensure the data is accurate and analyzed for opportunity and risk identification in partnership with AVP and Data Analytics and Revenue Team.
Other Duties – 10%
- Work across the organization to provide the best donor experience and team collaboration.
- Additional initiatives as they arise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent of employment and education experience.
- Minimum three to five years of work experience in fundraising, account management, and sales or related fields. Experience utilizing consultative selling practices in fundraising is a plus.
- Customer-focused, data-driven, innovative, results-oriented.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Comfortable presenting to groups of various sizes.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to modify tone and communication vehicle to best suit the audience.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and judgment skills required.
- Possess a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize concurrent projects and day-to-day tasks within a fast-paced environment.
- Fully proficient with Microsoft Office Environment.
- Must have access to a vehicle, when necessary, with a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
