Principal Sales Architect (Full-Time | Minneapolis or Grand Rapids)
As a Principal Sales Architect, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between client needs and technical solutions, ensuring that Vervint delivers proposals that are both compelling and technically sound to our clients. You will play a crucial role in our sales process by working closely with clients to understand their needs, designing innovative solutions, presenting technical proposals and supporting our sales team in winning new business. You will leverage your technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop compelling proposals that align with both client requirements and our service offerings.
This position will report directly to the VP of Sales and Marketing.
What You'll Accomplish:
- Model and promote the Vervint culture and core values.
- Solution Design and Architecture
- Engage with clients to understand their business challenges, technical requirements, and goals.
- Design and architect technology solutions that align with client needs and leverage Vervint's capabilities in digital transformation technologies.
- Customize standard solutions to meet specific client needs while ensuring scalability, security, and integration with existing systems.
- Validate the technical feasibility and alignment of proposed solutions with best practices.
- Technical Pre-Sales Support
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop comprehensive proposals including detailed technical descriptions, solution architecture diagrams, and project plans.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof of concepts (PoCs) to clients.
- Lead the technical response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring all technical requirements are thoroughly addressed.
- Serve as the primary technical contact during the pre-sales phase, addressing client questions and concerns.
- Technical Leadership
- Be a trusted technical advisor consulting on leading-edge technologies and possess deep technical knowledge.
- Provide the overall vision of the project solution and be the link between the needs of the client and the technical and project management teams.
- Keep abreast of market trends, solution insights, new vendors, products, and methods; regularly teaching these to other architects in sales and delivery.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with sales and delivery teams to ensure alignment between proposed solutions and Vervint's capabilities.
- Coordinate with Delivery Solution Architects to engage third-party vendors and technology partners to integrate their solutions into the overall architecture, as needed.
- Document and share knowledge of best practices, lessons learned, and new technologies with internal teams.
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify potential technical risks associated with proposed solutions and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client-specific requirements.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive offerings to provide insights and recommendations for enhancing our service offerings.
- Continuously refine pre-sales processes, methodologies, and tools to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

- Hyperscaler/Cloud technologies and platform services (AWS/Azure hyperscalers, on-prem, colocation, multi-cloud and edge)
- Converged, Hyperconverged, Dis-aggregated Hyperconverged infrastructure
- A theoretical and practical grounding in consumption economics
- XaaS - especially bundling infrastructure/cloud and services
- Cybersecurity
- Identity and Access Management
- Containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Tanzu, Openshift, Ezmeral)
- SDDC/IAC
- DevOps
- DR/HA/Run book/BIA/BCP technologies
- IT Service Management
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically, anticipate future trends and client needs and develop innovative strategies to address business challenges and opportunities.
- Strong business acumen with a focus on driving value creation, optimizing operations, and enhancing client satisfaction.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 12+ years in hands-on technical roles, such as software development, IT infrastructure, cloud computing, or cybersecurity, where you have gained deep technical knowledge.
- 10-12+ years of direct experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting roles where you have been responsible for designing and presenting complex solutions to clients.
- Experience in understanding client needs, responding to RFPs, and working closely with sales and delivery teams to align technical solutions with client business goals.
