Primary Location Salary Range: $103.42 - $172.37 / hour, based on education & experience

As a Medical Director for Pharmacy Services, you will be joining team safety huddles, meeting with key team members on current projects, and leading meetings that involve clinical quality/performance improvement. Responsibilities include overseeing the review of quality of care concerns with transfers or medication safety events, and interacting with dyad partners daily (Sr Director of Transfer Services and Sr. Director Clinical Pharmacy).
Looking for someone with experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine (Hospitalist), or Intensivist provider, though open to others. Prefer a provider with leadership experience such as Lead Hospitalist, Chief of Staff, Medical Director, or Department Chair. Strong communication skills, experience with conflict resolution, and interaction with C Suite members (Chief Medical Officer or Chief Nursing Officer) are essential. Experience with leveraging data to review current performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and creating action plans is also required.
Your Remote schedule will primarily be Monday-Friday, Part-Time 24 hours a week, during Arizona business hours. In rare cases, you may need to be available on evenings or weekends.
This position provides strategic leadership and works with management, staff, and other physicians to improve patient safety, error reduction, and quality of patient care. It includes intervening with other physicians when quality, utilization, and/or behavior are problematic, maintaining effective working relationships, and acting as an administrative clinical liaison.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Serves as the senior clinician for the URAC certified specialty pharmacy.
- Provides leadership in strategy, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives.
- Identifies opportunities for performance improvement related to patient safety and quality of care.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
- Performs administrative tasks related to strategic initiatives, risk management, and care management.
- Performs other duties as defined in the agreement.
- Ensures collaboration within a highly matrixed team environment to enhance patient experience.
- Participates in short- and long-term planning regarding patient care improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required along with appropriate board certification or qualifications. Must be eligible for or hold a current state medical license and be a member in good standing of the Medical Staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
