As a Medical Director for Pharmacy Services, you will be joining team safety huddles, meeting with key team members on current projects, and leading meetings that involve clinical quality/performance improvement. You will oversee the review of quality of care concerns with either transfers or medication safety events (when needed) and interact with dyad partners daily (Sr Director of Transfer Services and Sr. Director Clinical Pharmacy).
We are looking for someone with experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine (Hospitalist), or as an Intensivist provider, though we are open to others. Preferred candidates will have some type of leadership experience, such as Lead Hospitalist, Chief of Staff, Medical Director, or Department Chair. You should have experience working collaboratively and leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams, including nurses, pharmacists, and therapists. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is experience with conflict resolution and crucial conversations. Experience interacting with C Suite members to resolve issues is also required.
Your Remote schedule will primarily be Monday-Friday, Part-Time 24 hours a week, during Arizona business hours. In rare cases, you may need to be available on evenings or weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides strategic leadership and works with management, staff, and other physicians to improve patient safety, error reduction, and the quality of patient care. You will intervene with other physicians when quality, utilization, and/or behavior are problematic and maintain effective working relationships with all parties.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Serves as the senior clinician for the URAC certified specialty pharmacy.
- Provides leadership in strategy, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives, collaborating with pharmacy management, staff, and physicians.
- Identifies opportunities for performance improvement related to patient safety, error reduction, and quality of care, developing and implementing performance improvement plans.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management, acting as an administrative liaison.
- Performs administrative tasks, including acting as a resource for strategic initiatives and evaluating equipment and supplies.
- Performs other duties as defined in the agreement.
- Ensures and fosters collaboration within a highly matrixed team environment to enhance the overall patient experience.
- Leads improvement of patient care in the assigned service and participates in short- and long-term planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required along with appropriate board certification or qualifications.
Must be eligible for or hold a current state medical license and be a member in good standing of the Medical Staff.
Experience with organized medical staff, managed care organizations, and continuous quality improvement preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
