The Role
Our Consulting Practice is looking for a Director, Consulting to join us and lead our Grid Modernization Consulting efforts as we continue our journey to become the preeminent technology services partner to the Global 2000.

Cognizant Consulting is the Cognizant business analytical and advisory group that drives Cognizant’s digital innovation and transformation strategy. Our Energies & Utilities practice is expanding, and we’re looking for an industry leader to help grow our offering on the urgent need toward grid modernization. Reporting to the AVP of EU, this position will be a leader on our Grid Modernization efforts. The key requirements are below.

In this role, we’ll look for you to exemplify Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. At the Senior Director Level, this means driving cost-effective end-to-end execution of consultant engagements, cultivating practice innovations, achieving financial targets (utilization, expenditures, revenue, margin), promoting Cognizant Consulting’s vision & mission, and building high performing teams across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Consulting Leader, bringing domain expertise in ADMS, Grid Modernization and Utilities to Cognizant’s clients.
- Own and develop a book of business and actively engage in business development efforts.
- Exercise quality assurance for engagements within your remit.
- Engage in key account expansion, sales leadership, and internal executive stakeholder partnering.
- Maintain expertise in your industry; be a source of viable strategic direction.
- Establish and nurture relationships with cross-functional client executives.
- Leverage industry expertise and market sensibilities to propose forward-leaning refinement or extension of Cognizant’s Advisory Capabilities.
- Support and develop a long-term vision for the practice.
- Work with others to standardize consulting tools, methods, curricula, and career development requirements.
- Partner with recruitment to attract high caliber consulting talent.
- Mentor and coach consulting associates; lead people development activities.
- Author thought leadership insights on behalf of the practice.
- Participate in industry panels and forums to promote Cognizant’s capabilities.
- Lead in the creation of robust IP repositories and knowledge-sharing strategies.
Qualifications
- 12-20 + years of experience in deep domain or extensive cross-sector business management.
- A background of extensive management consulting leadership.
- Experience with GIS, ADMS, as well as sales pursuits.
- A successful track record of setting and achieving engagement targets.
- Possessing a robust network of contacts and presence in professional organizations.
- International experience supporting or driving global initiatives is a plus.
- Experience in building results-oriented, high-performing consulting teams.
- Personal leadership and a desire to create a culture that enables exceptional outcomes.
