APP Interventional Cardiology
POSITION SUMMARY:
In collaboration with the physician(s), assists in all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care for a select population. Maintains expertise in area of practice and applies advanced clinical skills to care for that select patient population. Incorporates advances in technology and procedures into skill set, remains current in the practice of general cardiology. Assists in the evaluation of outcomes and adjustment of practices to ensure optimum delivery of care in a cost-effective manner. Facilitates the coordination and communication of patient care needs across the health care continuum.
EDUCATION:
Physician Assistant: Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
OR
Advanced Nurse Practitioner: Current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) boarded as an ANP, FNP, ACNP, or AGNP.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, primarily in area of specialty.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
* Master's Degree in Nursing required, Doctorate (DNP, PhD) preferred.
* Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation. Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Hold a valid, current New Jersey physician assistant license.
OR
* Board certified and credentialed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey with primary focus of education and training as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Hold a valid, current New Jersey license.
* Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical practice experience in related field.
* BLS, ACLS certification.
* CCRN Certification a plus.
* Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem-solving.
* Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred.
* Maintains CME credit hours as required for board certification and/or hospital staff privileges with a focus in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
