Overview
The Material Analyst works within the Supply Management function to maximize the value that is delivered by providing the analysis required to develop material management plans to support and facilitate strategic decision making. The Material Analyst will have a combination of data analysis, model development and customer facing skills with the ability to communicate. Hybrid schedule with 2-3 days per week in office with some travel to locations outside of the office.
Responsibilities
- The Material Analyst conducts research, builds models, analyzes historical spend and material management/inventory data, administers supply chain support systems, assists in maintaining systems/platforms including BI, supports the development of policies/procedures, and tracks material and supplier performance.
- From the research, the Material Analyst builds models, analyzes historical spend, supply base and/or material and inventory management market trends as needed to support the development of material management strategies.
- Builds reports as needed for their internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Helps develop user training materials and technical manuals, conducts user training sessions, establishes procedures to ensure compliance to policies, processes reports including ad-hoc report requests, and manages audit traceability and compliance tracking requirements to maintain system integrity and effective business controls.
- Tracks material and supplier performance and produces a report on related performance metrics on a periodic basis.
- Acts as liaison to related stakeholders and suppliers, including taking an active role in maintaining and improving supplier performance.
- Supports demand planning, forecasting and inventory management activities with detailed data analysis, research and other reports to provide recommendations to the procurement and supply chain team.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Computer Information Systems, Supply Chain, or other related field.
- Three (3) - Five (5) years of directly relevant experience, preferably in a procurement or other related supply chain analyst role, or financial analytics/business consulting role.
- Demonstrated customer service capabilities.
- Advanced problem solving, analytical, and research abilities.
- Data analytics: Ability to clean and categorize data into an organized set of information.
- Forecast development: Ability to take multiple inputs to develop a forecast for materials.
- Customer focus: Ability to work with the client directly and explain their data needs and other requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop Key Performance Indicators and the relevant reporting and tracking methodologies.
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
- Strong computer skills, including the use of SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Internet applications.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting and business finance principles.
- Demonstrated forecasting model experience within a utility or heavy construction industry, desired.

Wage Data Per State Requirements
The pay rate for this position is $70.00/hr - $110.00/hr. The starting pay rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
