Position Overview:
As VP of Sales & Hospitality, you will shape our company’s trajectory by leading, mentoring, and driving the expansion of our market presence across the Midwest. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will define and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that capitalizes on growth opportunities in both new and existing markets.
About Us:
Tablescapes Event Rentals is Chicagoland’s premier provider of event essentials, including tables, chairs, glassware, utensils, and dance floors, serving celebrations of all sizes with a reputation for excellence & reliability. We operate from our new warehouse in Franklin Park, IL, and our sales office/showroom near downtown Chicago. Our work environment is fun, collaborative, and fast-paced, with a close-knit team that works together to ensure exceptional service at every stage of the event process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a sales team of 6-8 individuals (inside and outside sales) to reach their full potential.
- Create and execute a sales strategy to expand market share and build long-term client partnerships in the Midwest (Milwaukee, Indianapolis, etc.).
- Define actionable plans to capitalize on growth opportunities, and convert new clients to Tablescapes from their current event rental providers.
- Regularly engage with both existing & prospective clients to ensure exceptional service and identify new opportunities.
- Drive sales initiatives and set measurable goals for the team while fostering a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments to align sales goals with the company’s overall growth strategy.
- Represent Tablescapes as a market leader in the event rental industry by attending regional trade shows and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in hospitality or event sales, with a preference for candidates familiar with hotels, restaurants, or private event venues.
- Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and inspiring a sales team.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to develop innovative sales approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with clients and convert new business through networking & outreach.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with an open and collaborative company culture.
- Regional travel required (approximately 10-15%).
- A portfolio of previous sales success and client relationships is a strong advantage.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive total compensation package: $125,000 - $175,000 (base + commission).
- Full standard benefits package.
- Flexible work environment (office presence not required daily, but regular client engagement is expected).
