HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
As the Chief Medical Officer, you will assist in coordinating performance improvement, resource management, and quality related activities of the hospital and assure that the performance improvement and utilization management plans of the medical center meet the requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and other regulatory bodies.
Accountabilities:
- Participate in strategic planning for the medical center and assist in matters related to the Medical Staff and Clinical Care Delivery Systems.
- Coordinate and provide staffing for Medical Staff committee activities, serving as a resource and providing appropriate leadership and guidance.
- Provide leadership for capacity management initiatives working with all disciplines to improve patient flow.
- Direct a medical center wide Performance Improvement Program.
- Develop relationships with medical center and community physicians to support strategic initiatives.
- Perform human resources responsibilities for staff including interviewing and selection of new employees.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medicine and Surgery, MD-DO license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Education Required:
- Doctorate Degree in Medicine.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 10 years of experience in medicine practicing as a physician leader.
- 5 years of management experience in overseeing medical staff, performance improvement and quality programs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Excellent skills in problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and diplomacy.
- Knowledgeable of Contemporary Practice Issues within Medicine.
- Requires excellent communication skills.
