We are seeking a dynamic leader for our extensive acute care physical therapy services!The Physical and Occupational Therapy Department at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) consists of a large acute care service and 6 ambulatory care practices. Our compassionate, vibrant, and dynamic group of more than 250 clinicians, 85 of whom are ABPTS, AOTA or ASHT board-certified clinical specialists, strives daily to provide top of license practice reflective of current physical and occupational therapy science.
The acute care Physical Therapy Service delivers innovative care to the most medically complex patients in the world. The Opportunity:
We are seeking an outstanding physical therapist to serve as an Inpatient Clinical Director with the opportunity to co-direct daily operations, advance the vision of our department, and innovate clinical practice in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a passion for patient care and a proven commitment to mentorship and providing equitable opportunities for the professional growth of our staff. Previous leadership experience within an academic medical center is strongly encouraged. The role provides the opportunity to work remotely up to 2 days per week (subject to change based on operational needs).
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy, receiving a BS, BA, MS, MA, DPT, post-professional master's, or doctoral degree in a related field (Health Policy, Business, Public Administration) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Centers for Medicare Services, The Joint Commission, and Mass Dept. of Public Health preferred.
- Demonstrated competence directing a clinical service.
- Evidence of progressive leadership and management responsibility, including operations management, performance improvement and quality assessment initiatives, policy and procedure development, and effective collaboration with clinical and administrative leaders.
- Extensive clinical/professional experience in an acute care academic medical center environment required. Greater than 7 years preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
