Head of IT
The role
Want to help drive a revolution in synthetic biology? Triplebar's breakthrough products touch every aspect of our daily lives, from food to medicine to materials. We are looking for an experienced IT director to oversee the IT operations in our organization. You'll be responsible for maintaining and deploying Triplebar’s software and hardware tools, liaising with other departments to ascertain their technological requirements, and developing solutions that are aligned with our organization's objectives. You’ll be responsible for the aspects of onboarding, productivity, and security that relate to our IT systems. To be successful as an IT director, you should have an excellent technical aptitude, as well as superior project management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ultimately, the head of IT will maintain smooth, secure, and updated technical operations within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all IT operations infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate IT projects in line with organizational objectives.
- Work closely with other departments to determine and address their IT needs and requirements.
- Ensure the maintenance of current projects and technology systems.
- Identify vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
- Propose strategic solutions and recommend new systems and software.
- Preparing financial budgets and performance reports.
- Build and maintain relationships with external advisors and vendors.
- Ensure reported issues are resolved in a timely manner by providing IT help support to the organization.
- Assist in new hire onboarding and training.
Required Skills and Background
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of management experience in an IT environment.
- Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Background
- A Master's degree in computer science is preferred.
- Proof of continued education, such as software certifications, is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of TBB.
- Ability to drive teamwork, collaboration, and team norms throughout the organization.
- Assertive in decision making.
The annual base pay range for this position is anticipated to be $150,000 - $190,000 however the base pay offered may vary depending on location, market, job related knowledge, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes equity and benefits. This job will be required to be onsite in the Emeryville, Ca 4 days per week.
