Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Conduct detailed assessments of patients with rheumatic and autoimmune conditions, including arthritis, lupus, and vasculitis.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient history, clinical findings, and diagnostic results.
- Perform joint injections, aspiration procedures, and other rheumatologic interventions.
- Interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies related to rheumatic diseases.
- Manage chronic conditions, including disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologics therapy.
- Provide patient education on disease management, medication use, and lifestyle modifications.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to optimize patient care.
Clinical Research and Education:
- Engage in clinical research and contribute to advancements in rheumatology.
- Stay current with the latest research, treatments, and advancements in the field.
- Mentor and provide guidance to medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Training: Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Rheumatology.
- Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Rheumatology.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in rheumatology preferred. New graduates with outstanding training will be considered.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in rheumatology.
