The Chief Financial Officer will lead the finance function, including financial planning and performance, controllership, accounting operations, and treasury. This role will also have dotted line responsibility into the parent company, Fortegra Group Inc., to support consolidated group strategic initiatives and board/regulatory reporting.
This role reports directly to the President of Smart AutoCare and is expected to be a thought leader and trusted advisor in developing the company's overall strategy.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in leading Finance and FP&A teams within the financial services sector, ideally with an emphasis on auto warranty or P&C personal lines.
Job Duties: - Analyze, evaluate, and create material related to earnings trends, budget performance, and cash management.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
- Collaborate with business partners to assess the financial impact of business decisions and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets and reports required by internal and external stakeholders ensuring conformance to reporting and/or regulatory compliance requirements.
- Continue to identify and drive process and technology improvements for productivity, improved business insights, and leveraging team for growth.
Job Qualifications: - At least 12 years of progressive work experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Experience with leading and managing teams of at least 10 people.
- Previous experience with leading teams through monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Ability to manage and liaise with internal and external audit. Manage the company's SOX compliance initiatives.
- Lead a treasury function, experience with managing cash flows and maintaining banking relationships.
- Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite, Monday, Microsoft Office, and Power BI.
- CPA license preferred.
- Public accounting experience is highly valued.
