Johnson & Johnson Engineering and Property Sales (E&PS) Real Estate is recruiting for a Director, Real Estate Strategic Space Planning. The preferred location is New Brunswick, New Jersey, but can be in any New Jersey area location. The role can also be located in the United Kingdom or Singapore.
Overview
As Director of Strategic Space Planning at Johnson & Johnson, the candidate will lead the design and creation of capabilities and standardized space planning programs at a global scale. This role will be responsible for delivering site strategic programs to all supply chain and non-supply chain sites worldwide, ensuring alignment with workplace strategy and key partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Strategic Planning (40%)
- Be the primary point of contact for the Johnson & Johnson sectors and business units for any strategic space planning support globally.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver real estate space planning programs to optimize our global presence, including site planning.
- Provide oversight and governance for all real estate space planning programs, coordinating internal and external resources to ensure successful project and program outcomes.
- Continuously improve existing programs and develop innovative capabilities based on external and internal insights.
- Real Estate Space Planning Analytics (35%)
- Analyze occupancy and utilization globally and regionally using standardized tools and processes.
- Lead a team of internal resources and external partners to provide valuable real estate insights, generating real estate forecasts based on spatial efficiency data, occupancy, and utilization across different aspects of the organization.
- Drive the consistent utilization of space planning tools and analytics during early-stage project strategy activities.
- Track and evolve regional benchmarks and performance indicators for space efficiency, occupancy, utilization, talent, and investments.
- Digital Real Estate Space Planning (15%)
- Meet global and regional space planning needs through the deployment, upgrades, and administration of space planning systems.
- Develop innovative digital tools to enhance our real estate space planning capabilities.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements to ensure our tools meet current and future needs.
- Business Relationships (10%)
- Foster strong relationships with colleagues, leaders, and partners from various sectors and business units at Johnson & Johnson to address space planning and strategic planning requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all space planning requests, collaborating closely with Finance, Legal, Government Affairs, and other peer groups.
- Partner with Workplace Strategy and Experience teams to align vendor-handled space strategies with overall real estate space strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
- University/Bachelors or equivalent degree in Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, Management, Finance or Science degree is required.
- Advanced degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or Finance is preferred.
Experience and Skills
Required:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in roles of growing responsibility in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Workplace Strategy, Procurement, Engineering, or Strategy.
- Proven track record as an effective strategic leader with experience managing a significant global portfolio.
- Excellent ability to establish credibility quickly and develop productive business relationships.
- Strong leadership skills; capable of proactively leading change.
- Excellent performance management skills with demonstrated experience to manage performance via performance metrics.
Other:
- Must be proficient (oral and written) in the English Language.
- This position will require up to 25% domestic and international travel.
