Role:
The team is looking for a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to join the team and drive our organization’s metrics initiative to measure and report on business metrics relevant for sales, renewals, customer experience and partner organizations. We look for leaders who can partner with cross-functional teams to support robust scalable data architecture to support Go-to-Market organization. As a Data Engineering Senior manager, you’ll lead a team of analytics engineers who are dedicated to building semantic layer logic in Snowflake and visualizing dashboards in Tableau. You will provide subject matter expertise on data architecture, that includes designing, creating, deploying and managing Splunk’s analytics data architecture that aligns with direction, best practices, and structured data standards. You will partner with a team of technical and business product owners across sales, renewals, partner, customer experience functions. The role involves ownership and technical delivery of all the data engineering and visualization work. It requires working closely with the leader of data analysts and different operations teams who will prioritize the data requests and detail the requirements for the engineers to execute. Responsibilities:
- Effectively coordinate with key business partners to implement solutions supporting the business needs, while consistently demonstrating a service-oriented delivery approach.
- Actively collaborate with business and operations customers to derive and drive value from existing and new system technology investments.
- Responsible for recruiting, developing, and managing both internal and external resources pertaining to ongoing system implementation and support needs.
- Build a successful team with a solid focus on business value and customer-centricity.
- Optimize system support structures to ensure a high level of end-user happiness.
- Continuously look for ways to improve operations processes and increase velocity and quality.
- Evaluate emerging and new technologies; collaborate with customers on potential use within.
- Provide technical leadership and coaching, fostering accountability, innovation, and teamwork.
- Participate in applications budget and prioritization with business leaders to ensure investments are aligned with business requirements and consistently manage to ensure within the plan.
- Provides “hands-on” leadership and support of all development tasks.
- Selects, motivates, and develops a successful staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 8+ or more years of IT experience in a complex and geographically diverse environment.
- 5+ years of experience in the hi-tech industry.
- Demonstrable ability to lead effectively across matrixed teams and at peer and executive levels.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Must have a solid understanding of data systems implementations and release cycles.
- Willingness to take personal responsibility for the outcomes resulting from judgment, guidance, and decisions.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Extensive knowledge of data architecture, Snowflake, Tableau, SQL, Airflow, and Python.

Compensation and Benefits:
Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area: $181,200.00 - 249,150.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts: $163,080.00 - 224,235.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area: $144,960.00 - 199,320.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
