Position Overview
We are seeking to hire an experienced Managing Director who will work for the Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) while partnering with other team members to construct and manage client portfolios and communicate timely information to the team’s clients. Opportunity to work with (and learn from) a long-tenured CIO in managing client portfolios that range in size from $150 million to >$4.5 billion.
The team functions as the dedicated investment office for 12 family offices in the U.S., Canada, Central America, and South America. They currently manage over $12 billion in client assets and have consistently delivered top decile/quartile returns. Given their focus on timely client engagement and efficient portfolio execution, they have grown organically through client referrals, as well as strong networks in the family office market. The team has a flat structure with clear roles and ownership of all investment and operating processes. Team members meet daily to discuss markets, investment themes, managers, and client portfolios, while staying focused on task/project delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning and Business Building: Work in partnership with the team to build market awareness and develop our pipeline of $B+ families
- Relationship Management: act as senior spokesperson; be the executive at client, prospect, and manager meetings – set the stage and navigate relationships where they need to go
- Investing: Work in close partnership with team to manage client portfolios (thematic areas of focus, manager evaluation and monitoring, current exposures, liquidity levels, etc.)
- Business and team management: develop and execute on business plans, advocate resourcing and technology needs, mentor, coach, and develop talent on team
