Solid Biosciences is a life science company focused on advancing a portfolio of neuromuscular and cardiac programs, including SGT-003, a differentiated gene therapy candidate for the treatment of Duchenne, AVB-401, a gene therapy program for the treatment of BAG3 mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, AVB-202-TT, a gene therapy program for the treatment of Friedreich’s Ataxia, and additional assets for the treatment of fatal cardiac diseases. Position Summary:
The Director/Sr Director, Business Development and Corporate Strategy will spend their time identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. This involves conducting market research and analysis to identify potential target markets, customers, and partnerships. They will actively seek out new collaborations, licensing agreements, and strategic alliances to expand the company’s product portfolio and market research.
Key Duties & Accountabilities:
- Sell side activities around Solid’s proprietary technologies
- Search and evaluate new business development opportunities including in-licensing, sponsored research agreements, joint ventures etc.
- Work with internal scientific teams to create research strategies/plans for internal execution or external collaboration
- Support creation of diligence packages for new deals including, strategic fit, unmet medical need, epidemiology, clinical, development and commercial landscape, regulatory path forward, commercial projections, manufacturing strategy and preclinical development plans.
- Lease with research on diligence and program execution
- Alliance management

- Demonstrated expertise in reaching out to academics and administrators within academic institutions
- Ability to research new diseases, find appropriate animal models and build a research plan

Knowledge: Education, Experience, & Skills:
- MD or PhD in life sciences
- 5 years of Pharma or related academic experience
- Disease or platform related experience
- At least 3 years business development experience
- Scientific writing
- Gene therapy expertise
- Leading research team
- Executing preclinical research
Travel Commitment:
For conferences 2-4 times/year
Role Location:
Preferred at HQ in Charlestown, MA or Remote (EST time zone)
