Job Summary
The UCSF Department of Dermatology is committed to advancing healthcare through cutting-edge clinical research. We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) with a strong background in conducting industry-sponsored clinical trials to join our dedicated team.
As a CRC, you will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple industry-sponsored clinical trials. The successful candidate will bring expertise in managing all aspects of research studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering positive relationships with sponsors and research participants.
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Study Coordination
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocols, timelines, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with principal investigators, study sponsors, and cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth study implementation.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA guidelines and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documents for Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and maintain ongoing regulatory documentation.
- Participant Recruitment and Retention
- Develop and implement effective strategies for participant recruitment and retention.
- Coordinate study visits, including scheduling, monitoring, and ensuring participant safety and satisfaction.
- Data Management
- Oversee data collection, entry, and quality control procedures.
- Work closely with data management teams to ensure accurate and timely data submission to sponsors and regulatory authorities.
- Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors, investigators, and research staff.
Communicate study progress, issues, and resolutions effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. The salary range for this position is $34.32 - $55.19 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, GCP, and FDA guidelines.
- Proficiency in electronic data capture systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent, effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with subjects, team members, other departments and outside institutions; and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse subject population.
- Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in clinical research (e.g., SoCRA or ACRP) is a plus.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator with a focus on industry-sponsored trials. Experience within UCSF is a plus.
- Fluency in the usage of Committee of Human Research (CHR) online iMEDris system for submission, renewal, and modification of protocols through this system.
- Understanding of patient population to create rapport and a relationship, while also giving insight to what is realistic and appropriate for patient participation.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
