JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Director is responsible for leading a team of providers to administer excellent patient care to those with either mental disabilities, mental illnesses, or behavioral conditions. Responsible for the overall quality of dual diagnosis capable services through oversight of clinical policy development, programming, quality improvement, and staff competencies, manage and organize all activities in the clinical department.
Responsibilities include: - Design and implement strategies to assist the clinic to realize business goals.
- Ensures that the most effective treatment approaches are utilized, developing new models of treatment.
- Monitors regulatory and clinical standards; productivity and quality assurance efforts, meet contractual reporting requirements and performance standards.
- Updates, maintains, and complies with policies and procedures as it relates to all clinical program operations.
- Oversees clinical supervision of Psychiatrist and Outpatient Therapists, training, and ongoing education.
- Available for crisis consultation as needed. Capable of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
- Facilitates critical incident reviews and staff debriefings.
- Provides leadership for initiatives to improve/maintain a positive work climate that is trauma informed.
- Provides overall programmatic and clinical oversight to assure consistency and continuity in the provision of services.
- Supervises, trains, coaches, and mentors Program Directors to achieve established goals.
- Ensures compliance with agency training requirements, for self and staff.
- Oversees certification site visit preparation, and program audit visits and reports.
- Assists with program development as well as ensures compliance with policies and procedures directly related to risk and funding mandates.
- Monitors and helps develop programmatic fiscal budgets.
- Liaison with appropriate mental health departments, community agencies and private practitioners.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
- Oversee the department’s compliance with legal policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Ensure departments have sufficient and qualified personnel.
- Organize and run all patient care or administrative operations and programs.
- Ensure all medical records and other hospital documentation are current and within state and federal laws.
- Perform quarterly and annual employee reviews and provide feedback on their performance to help motivate their dedication to professional goals.
- Plan and manage the clinic’s budget and approve payroll.
- Act as a connection between patients, their families and additional care staff.

- Maintaining all Clinical relationships.
- Updating Healthcare Administrator, Executive Director, and Corporate Board on clinical performance.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements: - Minimum of a master’s degree in social work, or professional counseling.
- Detailed knowledge of policies and regulations in the clinical field.
- Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team and works collaboratively to ensure all agency operations are integrated and function well.
- At least five years of supervisory experience working in a mental health, substance use disorder, or dual diagnosis program and skilled in training, coaching and mentoring multidisciplinary staff.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment or related social services experience.
- Must be able to maintain flexible work schedule in accordance with client and program needs.
- Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written (also with ability to meet required standards of documentation).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records.
- Should have a strong knowledge of business departments and their functions.
- Must be self-motivated and reliable.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
- Proficient with the use of computers and software programs used in finance and business.
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Required Licenses and Certifications: LCSW or LCPC
CADC or LADC a plus!
