Job Summary:
The Oracle Database Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and efficient Oracle database solutions to support the company's business operations. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, including architecture design, performance tuning, and database security. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database reliability, performance, and high availability in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement Oracle database architecture to meet business and operational requirements.
- Provide expertise in Oracle database administration, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to design database solutions for new applications and optimize existing systems.
- Analyze and resolve database issues related to capacity, performance, and scalability.
- Develop and enforce database management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure database security by implementing and maintaining database encryption, auditing, and user management policies.
- Lead database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities to ensure a stable and up-to-date environment.
- Perform database health checks, monitoring, and proactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Create and maintain documentation, including data models, configuration, and runbooks.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs and developers on best practices for Oracle database development and administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of experience in Oracle database administration and architecture.
- Expertise in Oracle Database 12c, 19c, or later versions.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Data Guard, and ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
- Proficiency in Oracle performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and database programming.
- Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database monitoring and management.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and experience implementing encryption, auditing, and role-based access control.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle database services (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, or Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex database challenges.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is a plus.
