Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology (IT), the IT Director will provide guidance on infrastructure solutions, architectures, and support for business processes; work closely with other IT Teams in assessing, planning, and implementing infrastructure solutions and ensure the IT infrastructure is available and secure.
The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, IT Technical, planning, process improvement, and strategic decision-making skills. A proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment will be required for success in this position.
Position Responsibilities
- Providing guidance on infrastructure solutions, architectures, and support for business processes.
- Managing daily operations of core infrastructure and platforms including, but not limited to, firewalls, data and voice networks, servers (physical and virtual), storage systems, and associated IT services.
- Working closely with the IT Security department to manage network vulnerabilities, software updates and patches.
- Participating in and leading IT projects, and where applicable, ensure these are delivered within scope, budget, and adhere to company governance processes.
- Maintaining and developing adequate technical documentation for the region’s network infrastructure and for complex technical solutions.
- Working to increase user satisfaction by monitoring critical IT systems and ensuring timely response and fix times.
- Mentoring the IT staff and providing guidance and hands-on training. Promoting excellent customer service, high quality of work, and efficient problem-solving standards.
- Proactively researching new and more efficient technology and vendors in the pursuit of stability and reduction of expenses.
- Working with IT Leadership in the budgeting process. Managing expenses and projects within approved budget guidelines.
- Ensuring IT systems including servers, routers, firewalls, and switches, are patched in a timely manner.
- Facilitating routine meetings to discuss strategic goals and progress.
- Communicating within the IT teams and across departments to ensure success.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, or relevant educational or professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience as a manager with 4 of those years in a large, diverse global enterprise with a proven track record of leadership in Information Technology.
- Minimum of two (2) years of enterprise information security architecture and information security system design.
- Proven experience with datacenter technologies, including virtualization technologies, storage, replication, and backup.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in implementing and supporting IT networks and IT solutions in fast-paced food processing environments.
- Proven administration experience of Microsoft Products, including Active Directory both on-premises and Azure AD.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet networks (e.g. VLANs, VPN, VoIP, LAN/WAN), and network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Experience with data backup and restore solutions such as Commvault, Datto, Veritas, and Veeam.
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, Terminal Services, File Servers, Print Management, Group Policy and network routing protocols.
- Experience with Gigabit Passive Optical networks.
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls (Palo Alto preferred), intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems.
- Data communications experience with MPLS and SDWAN technologies, Site-to-Site and VPN technologies.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Nutanix.
- Experience providing IT solutions in the Food or Agriculture Industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience in managing IT projects is required.
- Strong leadership and project management skills are required.
- Experience in controlling information technology budgets is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, are required. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills are required.
- Proven ability to be adaptable, capable, self-motivated, and confident is required.
- Excellent resource planning and task scheduling skills are required.
- Ability and desire to travel, as required by the business.
